Wrapping up with Doodle Pantry

Well today is the last day of the month and my guest designer spot with Doodle Pantry is coming to a close. I have so enjoyed being a guest designer. Doodle Pantry is one of my favorite digi companies.

If you haven't been to the Doodle Pantry store, you should. Laurie has some signature characters that are just too cute. Her happy little bird and busy ants are always getting into something new. I made this little card using one of the ant sets.

You'll being seeing some more of these ants around and some more Doodle Pantry images.

Happy Sunday

Happy Sunday everyone. Can the weekend go any faster? How come two days during the week, doesn't feel like the two days of the weekend?

Just wanted to share my card for the Crafting with Deedee weekly challenge. The challenge this week was to use the colors, orange, green and yellow. My colors look funky in this photo, but I promise those are the colors I used.

Supplies: Cardstock - DCWV; PP - Making Memories; Sketch - Fairy Knoll; Image and Sentiment - Deedee's Creations; Punches - Fiskars, Marvy Uchida, The Paper Studio; Ribbon - Dollar Tree; Rhinestones - Studio 18

This was such a sweet image to work with. I tried two new things with this card. First, I used marker on the bear. I know that doesn't sound new, but it is to me because most of my coloring is pencil or chalk. I have been practicing with markers and finally achieved an image I was happy with. My second thing is the rolled ribbon. I've seen this on other blogs and every time I wanted to use this treatment of the ribbon mine didn't look like what I saw. So again I kept practicing. So that's my new mantra, practice, practice, practice.

I also used the baby oil blending on the tree.

Challenge entered:
52-Card Pickup - Simplify

Halloween is coming. This is only my second Halloween card so far. I have to get going, I have more to make for the kids in my life.

Anyway, this is for Designed 2 Delights weekly challenge. I thought I'd keep it simple and use up some more scraps. Do you know how old these papers are? Oh, my goodness. I think these were some of the first papers I bought when I started scrapbooking. Ridiculous how long I hold stuff.

On to my card, enjoy.

Doodle Pantry is Buzzing

Maybe it's me buzzing and not Doodle Pantry. LOL.

I tried something new again. It's wonderful discovering new things. This time I played with blending using baby oil. I've seen a couple tutorials and wanted to know for myself if it really works. Guess what? IT WORKS. I really like how this image came out. The flower was blended with baby oil. With this technique you can add color over color, even after you have used the oil.

Buzzer's wings are glittered with Stickles and just a hint of stickles on the flower.
