R.I.P my little blue friend

It hasn't been a very good week here. I have been busy with the insurance company, car dealership and rental car. This whole process is just depressing. My 8 month old car is totaled.

I guess I kind of knew it would be, but I wasn't expecting the insurance company not to pay off the car. This accident was not my fault. I was sitting at the red light minding my business. I feel like I'm being punished, I have no car and the money won't pay off the old one let alone help me get a new one. (sigh) Enough whining. God made a way for me to get this car, He'll help me get the next car.

I tried to keep my spirits up by making cards. It was slow going but I managed to finish one.

This is a Daisy Doodle image, isn't it cute? You should check out the store. There is a sale going on right now on Daisy Doodles Images, so get here quick!

I have fallen in love with Spellbinder dies and Cuttlebug embossing folders!!! I like to do cards and layouts with no patterned paper and Cuttlebug embossing folders make it so easy to do that, by just adding texture to plain paper I can dress up my project in a snap. Love it!

Anyway, I'll be back tomorrow. I have a few others I need to finish up and then post.

A Recipe Box, sort of

Hey everyone, it's time for another challenge over at the Daisy Doodle Challenge blog. For this challenge all you need to do is Anything But a Card! Isn't that sweet? You can do whatever you want! There is also time to vote for your favorite project from the last challenge. Voting will close at 7pm on Monday night, so get over there and vote. For this challenge I altered a recipe box I bought at Michael's. I wanted something to hold my digital prints. When I print an image I print a whole sheet of stuff and then have no where to store them until I am ready to work with them. Hopefully this little box will help me with that problem.

Supplies: Pattern paper - Miss Elizabeth (Dollar Tree), Border - JoAnn's Scrap Essentials, Trim - JoAnn's, Image - Daisy Doodles, Ink - Tsukinek, Rhinestones - Darice, Die Cuts - Spellbinders

I don't alter too many projects. You have to have a use for the item or someone to give it to, so I don't do too many projects like this. This was fun though. It got me outside my comfort zone a little.
You can purchase the butterfly image at Daisy Doodles shop, here. There is also some new releases to see.

Challenges Entered:
AIFactory - Anything but a card

It was a two cup morning....

My day started out really funky today. In fact it was a carry over from last night. We went to Chick-fil-a to grab dinner and someone hit us from behind and I in turn hit the car in front. My poor little Kia is just about totaled, just waiting on the adjuster to say it. (sigh) There is a couple of blessings in all of this. Cee and I are fine, we were not hurt - totally freaked out and scared but not hurt. And the other blessing, I got a much needed day off from work. I had time to sit and fiddle around without interruption, well not many interruptions anyway. It was definitely a two cup morning. My day doesn't get started without my cup of coffee. Supplies: Cardstock - The Paper Company, Pattern Paper - Doodlebug Designs, Ink - Tsukinek, Buttons - Favorite Findings, Ribbon - Michael's, Die Cuts - Spellbinders This card is for the Doodle Dragon Studio Challenge. It reads: Mornings....can be a bear without my coffee. I have been trying to finish off this designer paper, it went on and on and on. free glitter -

A Challenge among Friends

My friends and I have decided to challenge each other. I enjoy challenges so this is just plain fun for me. It was my turn to bring the challenge and I chose an inspiration challenge. This is a dish towel I saw at JoAnn's. I saw it, walked past it and then decided I had to have it. I love bright colors so this fit me and my personality. This became our inspiration and here is my project. Supplies: Cardstock - Bazzill, Scallop punch - The Paper Studio, Image & Sentiment - Studio G, Stickles, Ribbon - Joann's, Cuttlebug embossing folder I am really pleased with how this came out and I finally got to use my Stickles. I hardly ever bring them out to play. It's Monday

Wow! The weekend goes fast and Monday comes way to quickly. But it's Monday and it's a new day so no complaining. I had to finish up a couple of cards I worked on this weekend. I color a lot of images and leave them until the inspiration hits me again. These two images had been colored for a while now. I guess I was just waiting for the right sketch to come along. I still think my images are way too big sometimes. I see all the details on other people's cards and I think how in the world did they get all of that on their card? Hoppy Anniversary will be entered in the Sundays with Crissy challenge - Make it a Combo Challenges Entered: 365 Cards - Dig Deep (Paper is over a year old, heart brads were given to me, rick rack was my forgotten item) Practical Stamper - Fibers, floss, ribbons Stamp with Fun - Animals I made this second card for the Bugaboo Sunday Sketch. Every where I look crafters are making their own flowers. I am so impressed, some of them are pretty nice. I tried to make my own flower embellishment. It came out OK, I think but nothing like what I am seeing others make. They rock! I have to practice more and try other textures. Challenges Entered: Stamp Something - Layers Creative Belli - Die cut shapes Penny's Challenge - Anything Goes CCEE Stampers - Get Well Card free glitter -

Hoppy Sunday

Hello, I hope you are enjoying your day. I am beat the weekends go way too fast and I try to pack way too much into two days. Can we reverse the week? 5 Days of doing what I want and two days of work? That would work for me. Anyway, Here is one of my latest cards. The inside reads: Friends fill your life with joy and hoppiness. The image is "Ribbit" from Daisy Doodles. You can purchase it here.

I couldn't decide if I wanted the image to be a male or female.

There's still time to enter the challenge over at the Daisy Doodles challenge blog too. (Pink plus one color)

Challenge Entered:
Pixie Dust Studios - Use the color Green

Birthdays on the brain

I always print my images way too big, there isn't room for the sentiment. That's OK, I still like how this card turned out. I interpreted the sketch over at Sunday Sketch and Stamp, but I didn't have room left for the sentiment. LOL! It's another birthday card. Still trying to get a masculine looking card done. This one failed because of the flowers. Supplies: Pattern Paper - Creative Imaginations, Cardstock - Core-dinations & The Paper Company, Image: Karen Doodles, Flowers - Prima, Oriental trading & EK Success flower punch, Stickles, Brads - Miss Elizabeth (Dollar Tree), Cricut Die cut Circle Challenges Entered: Sunday Sketch and Stamp - Sketch Creative Belli - Diecuts free glitter -

April is a month of birthdays in my family. My Mom and my oldest brother are both April birthdays. I have been making birthday cards it seems all month, but I need to work on more masculine cards. Guy cards are so hard for me. I love girly - girly cards and girl colors. I don't think my brother would appreciate any of these.

Note Pad Holders

I have fallen in love with those little magnetic note pads found in the dollar spots at Michael's and Target. I love those things. I pick them up whenever I see them because they make great little give a ways and I can create a little holder to give them in. I see potential in almost everything. Here is a couple I made this weekend.

I am entering this one in the challenges over at Corrosive Challenges, Totally Gorjuss, and also at Hand Full of Stamps (Digi It Challenge) The challenge this week is Texture. I used the Cuttlebug embossing on the bottom half of the folder.

Here is the other note pad holder I made.

Challenge entered: Pals Paper Art - Flowers
